Poetic Descriptions of Wombs

I noticed more than a couple of times that people have used the search terms “poetic descriptions of wombs” or “poems about being in the womb” in order to stumble across my website. My suspicions suggest that some of these people might be college students searching for poems applicable to a topic they have either been assigned or chosen themselves. I’d hate for them to feel frustrated by seemingly arriving at my site in error, so I decided to post a couple of womb-related pieces on my page in hopes that they would search again and possibly find these posts of some assistance in their project.

Sometimes I feel like I’ve been alive a lot longer than I really have. I suppose this might partially be a result of my family having moved frequently when I was very young, but even then it seems that I remember far more places (and events) than my parents can recall. Now, in actuality these strange notions of an extended childhood might have an easy explanation, for we often recall things that others don’t… and for most of us, it is normal for our childhoods to seem like nebulous tangles of mysteriously distant memories. But forgive the gullible daydreamer in me, for at times I extend upon this notion and allow myself to entertain the possibility of past lives, or at least parallel ones. Laugh at me if you will, but either way I like to think of myself as an “old soul”. Whether I mean that literally or strictly as a metaphor in jest, well, I’ll leave that as a mystery. Perhaps these questionable memories are merely a vague recollection of dreams that I’ve had as a child in the womb, somehow bubbling up from the bottomless depths of my subconscious mind. Perhaps that is a likely explanation for many accounts of paramnesia and repressed memories of purported “past lives”. Needless to say, as irrelevant as these questionable memories may seem in a modernized and rapidly developing world, I have found much use for them as an inspiration for a large number of my poems.

Now that I’ve broken the ice, set the stage, and (hopefully) instilled a slight sense of the nostalgic, allow me to introduce you to my page and my secondary outlet for self-expression (second, of course, to my poetry). Here I’ll be talking more about memories and dreams, and combinations thereof, as well as more pertinent information such as updates on my writing and other creative projects. I have included several sample poems here, from both of my poetry collections, and at the bottom of each poem’s page you will see a link to my Authors Den site where you can find even more samples of my writing. Feel free to leave comments, as long as they are tasteful… I’m not demanding praise, I’m merely asking for courtesy and tact. With that being said, I hope you enjoy your stay and I hope that you might even find a likeness of yourself in the tales I have to tell…
